Making waves at the Bernabeu last season before his meteoric rise was cruelly stymied by a cruciate injury, the prodigious Jese Rodriguez made his long-awaited return to the Real Madrid first team after nine months (258 days to be precise) on the sidelines – making a goalscoring comeback as Los Blancos stuck five unanswered goals past Cornella (9-1 agg.) in the Copa Del Rey.
Quickly becoming one of the most promising youngsters in Spanish football before his knee ligaments gave out on him against Schalke back in March , the crowd reacted warmly to Jese’s return, with the relief etched across the 21-year-old forward’s face after he rammed home Real’s fifth and final goal of the night from a tight angle…
