Crystal Palace 1-1 Stoke City – Premier League – 13th December 2014

In what was a rather ragged game overall, two early goals settled the contest, with James McArthur and then Peter Crouch securing a point each for their respective sides.

McArthur’s first goal for the Eagles came on 11 minutes when he headed over ‘keeper  Asmir Begovic after good work from in-form winger Yannick Bolasie. However, within two minutes the scores were level, courtesy of a close-range finish from Crouch. After that, chances were few and far between although McArthur did almost net his second of the game, only for Begovic to make a fine stop. Crouch also came close to netting his second of the game only for Julian Speroni to keep him out but ultimately, both neither side did enough to warrant all three points.

Neill Warnock’s Palace side now find themselves in 16th place, one point clear of the drop-zone while the Potters go 11th.
