Burnley 2-3 Crystal Palace – Premier League – 17th January 2015
Alan Pardew and Palace have done it again! Coming hot on the heels of their fine comeback win against Spurs last week, the Eagles produced another fine win from a losing position, this time beating Burnley.
The Clarets were two-up within the first 16 minutes against a Palace side which say Arsenal loanee Yaya Sanogo starting in attack, with Ben Mee and Danny Ings putting the visitors in the driving seat. However, Dwight Gayle got his side back into the game on the half-hour mark. After the break, the hosts went level courtesy of a fine long-drive from Jason Puncheon, who was superb throughout. Then, at the death and after Glenn Murray had hit the woodwork, Gayle bagged his second of the game after a superb pass from Puncheon.
Pardew’s Palace go 12th, four points clear of the drop-zone while Sean Dyche’s Burnley are 17th, just a point above the bottom-three.
