Racing Club beat Boca Juniors 4-1 in a pre-season Torneo de Verano friendly fixture last night, with the away side ending the night decidedly light on personnel after having two men sent off in the first half.

The second red card was a belter from Boca’s Leandro Marin, who absolutely totalled Racing’s Ricardo Centurion (as names go, that’s a beauty) with a truly hideous, studs-up assault on his calf…

It looks even worse from the reverse angle…

Like we said, it was supposed to be a “friendly”.

Yeesh.

  1. Tom says:

Still doesn’t stop him convulsing and rolling around like a t***

  2. Nuno says:

@Tom Are you f***ing serious? I’d like to see you just get up and play after an assault like that (btw, he had to be subbed off)

  3. wha says:

Wow, that challenge had violent intent.

  4. Jarren says:

What would you do, Tom? Scratch it & get up and do a jog around the pitch?

A full boot of studs flying right into his calf muscle at some velocity (not to mention intent) and you bemoan his reaction?

  5. Tom says:

I don’t think I ever said anything about him not being hurt, I said about the convulsing. If you get clattered like that and it hurts, which that did, you don’t roll over and over and over, banging the ground, getting up, falling over again, instead of the histrionics you lie there in pain, if someone gets punched or hit by something in the street do they roll around like that? No. They barely move, that’s the natural reaction for getting hurt, thats all I’m saying. The extras is often just to convince the ref you’re extra hurt.
