It all began on Christmas morning…

Skip forward a week or three and Jay Beatty’s big day arrived, with Celtic travelling to Hamilton’s New Douglas Park last Saturday.

Before the game, Jay went into each dressing room to meet both teams, even giving Celtic an impromptu team talk…

Not only did Jay see his beloved Bhoys win 2-0, but he was also allowed onto the pitch at half-time to blast a shot into the net in front of the travelling Celtic fans, who roared in unison as the wee man celebrated his goal in front of them…

The best bit? Hamilton officially counted Jay’s half-time goal, announcing the full-time score as 3-0 to Celtic…

Marvellous.

Seeing as though he’s something of a cult hero at Celtic Park these days, you may remember Jay as being the little lad Neil Lennon gave his SPL winner’s medal at the end of last season, shortly before he was allowed the esteemed privilege of stroking Giorgios Samaras’ immaculate beard at close quarters…

Warms your cockles, don’t it?
