You may recall a few short weeks ago when we brought you the story of young Jay Beatty, and how Celtic and Hamilton joined forces to give the young 11-year-old Bhoys fan the Christmas present of a lifetime.

Just to get you up to speed, Jay (who has Down’s Syndrome) was given the full VIP treatment on the day of the SPL fixture between the two sides, meeting the players, giving the team-talks and even scoring a goal in front of the Celtic fans at half-time.

Even after losing 2-0 at home, Hamilton went above and beyond by including Jay’s half-time strike in the final score, announcing the full-time score as 3-0 to Celtic on Twitter afterwards.

Now the the fine chaps at the SPL have followed suit by including Jay’s finely struck penalty in the short-list for January’s goal of the month competition.

Here’s the official short-list video, with Jay’s goal listed at number 10…

How amazing is that?

Of course, if you wish to register a vote for Jay’s goal and really put the seal on his awesome Christmas present, then simply toddle over to the Youtube channel and leave a message saying so in the comments under the video.

Having just had a quick butcher’s at the comments, it looks like the wee fella’s got it sewn up!

(Many thanks to Pies fan @_Inno for the nudge)
