Crystal Palace 3-1 Queens Park Rangers – Premier League – 14th March 2015

A dismal first-half defensive display sent QPR to yet another defeat against a vibrant Crystal Palace side on Saturday.

The Hoops simply had no answer to the Eagles speed and power, with young full-back Darnell Furlong taken apart by Yannick Bolasie time and time again. Indeed, two of the hosts goals came courtesy of good play from the DR Congo wideman, with Wilfried Zaha and James McArthur putting Palace 2-0 up within 40 minutes before Joel Ward made it 3-0 just before the break.

After the break, QPR boss Chris Ramsey hauled off Furlong and sent on Clint Hill in an attempt to stem the tide of Palace attacks. Indeed, the Eagles didn’t add to their tally n the second-period, with a long-range wonder-goal from Matty Phillips at least giving the travelling Rangers’ fans something to cheer about. But ultimately, the west Londoners were well beaten.

Alan Pardew’s side go 12th while the Hoops stay in the drop-zone.
