Case Jernigan is a New York-based artist who’s work we’ve featured several times before here on Pies, and it never fails to impress.

He’s gone quiet for the past few months but it turns out that that’s because he’s been working on an epic, at least in fiddly stop-motion animation terms.

Jernigan has produced a loving ode to football and its steeped history by blending together a cornucopia of classic moments using a variety of his signature styles.

As a result, ‘A Brief History of Soccer’ is in parts surreal, even a little abstract at times, but always charming and always beautifully crafted…

Lovely, lovely, lovely.
