Real Madrid 0-4 Barcelona – La Liga – 21st November 2015

A rampant Barcelona sent rivals Real Madrid to a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the Bernabeu on Saturday, a result which saw Los Merengues lose at home for the first time in 23 league games.

With Lionel Messi on the bench, Sergi Roberto started alongside Neymar and Luis Suarez in attack and it was the Spaniard who would set up the opening goal for Suarez after just 16 minutes. Barca were superb throughout and before half-time, they doubled their advantage when Neymar struck after a pass from the outstanding Iniesta.

In the second period, Madrid failed to mount a comeback, although an unusually quiet Cristiano Ronaldo did test Claudio Bravo in the Barca goal. A third for the visitors had come on 53 minutes, courtesy of Iniesta, before Messi came on for Rakitic. Suarez then bagged his second of the game on 74 minutes, courtesy of a fine finish before Isco saw red late on for a hefty challenge on Neymar.

The win sees the Catalans go six points clear at the top of La Liga, with the pressure mounting on Real boss Rafa Benitez.
