Against Italy on Saturday night, Germany once again prevailed in a penalties shoot-out, albeit after a few uncharacteristically poor spot-kicks of their own. Still, the world champions are through to the last four of Euro 2016, with the German FA releasing a rather strange, if charming, little video to commemorate the drama in Bordeaux.

Inter-cutting photos of each German penalty in the shoot-out with what looks like pre-prepared reactions from the players, the video is a slightly odd little production…

With France imperious against Iceland in the final quarter-final game, Germany’s semi-final clash with the hosts on Thursday will be an epic encounter, with more penalties a definite possibility.

That was terrible. If I was German, I would be even more embarrassed than I currently feel after watching that.

Don’t worry Germany, you’ll still win the Euros. Then you can erase this video from existence.

    Please, do.
