Coming hot on the heels of a fine brace against Marseille in his first game for Nice, Mario Balotelli made it four goals in two Ligue 1 games on Wednesday night, with the striker netting another double against Monaco.

Ex-Liverpool flop Balotelli’s first of the night was a throroughly classy affair, with the Italian superbly taking a pass in his stride before firing past Danijel Subasic in the Monaco goal. That goal put Nice 2-0 up at the break.

In the second-half, former Man City star Balotelli struck again, calmly slotting home from inside the box.

Nice ended up winning the game 4-0, with Lucien Favre’s side now top of the table, as Balotelli’s resurgence continues. It’s a far cry from his doomed spell on Merseyside where he managed just one league goal in 16 appearances and it’s nice to see the striker finally getting back to what he does best.

As for Favre, after a successful time with Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany, the Swiss coach is impressing once again in France. Expect a move to the Premier League next!
