Tributes have been flooding in from all and sundry after Graham Taylor sadly passed away on Thursday at the age of 72.

Shortly after receiving news that his former BBC Radio colleague had gone, Mark Pougatch put together a wonderful tribute in honour of his friend, which he subsequently delivered with aplomb live on air.

If nothing else, it shows that Taylor quietly, gracefully and entirely without pretence gave us all an example by which to live our lives…

How lovely.

No doubt the man himself would be enthused to see just how many times the word “gentleman” has been used in relation to him since yesterday.

  1. Respect payer says:

He was absolutely slaughtered in the press both during and after his tenure as England manager. I remember laughing at the Sun newspaper when they mocked him but then as the years went by I started to realise that he seemed like a really nice , down to earth guy. Very likeable man with insane passion for the game. Adiós Mr Taylor rest in peace mate. Condolences to his family and friends at this sad time. R.I.P mate from a Gooner in Borehamwood.
