Gareth Bale marked his return to action on Saturday with a fine goal in Real Madrid’s 2-0 home win against Espanyol.
Bale has been out of action for three months due to an ankle injury, but the Welsh superstar looked sharp in a cameo role at the Bernabeu on Saturday.
Alvaro Morata opened the scoring for the hosts just after the half-hour mark, courtesy of a header from an Isco centre.
Then, late on, second-half sub Bale ran through the Espanyol backline before firing past Diego Lopez.
Oh, and Cristiano Ronaldo, despite not getting on the scoresheet himself, produced this little bit of elastico/nutmeg magic…
Real now finding themselves four points clear of second-place Barcelona, with Los Merengues still having a game in hand.
