Napoli moved to within nine points of Serie A leaders Juventus on Saturday, courtesy of an impressive 2-1 win away to Roma.

While Dries Mertens was the hero for Napoli courtesy of a match-winning brace, ex-Liverpool ‘keeper Pepe Reina was also key to the win for the visitors, courtesy of one utterly world-class save.

Napoli were 2-0 after 50 minutes, courtesy of Mertens’ brace before a late Kevin Strootman goal made for a nervy finale for the Partenopei.

However, one man who kept his cool was Reina in the Napoli goal, with the Spaniard producing a magnificent last-gasp stop to thwart Diego Perotti.

The 34-year-old Reina was also at the centre of incident which saw Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri sent to the stands for protesting after the ‘keeper had been kicked by Daniele De Rossi.

Still, thanks to that wonder-save, Napoli held on to close the gap on second-place Roma to just two points.
