Lionel Messi was at his very best at the Nou Camp on Saturday, with the Argentinian imp netting two classic goals in his side’s 5-0 demolition of Celta Vigo.
Messi opened the scoring on 24 minutes, courtesy of a magnificent solo effort.
Picking up the ball near the centre circle, Messi turned one defender before racing towards goal. After jinking past another opponent, the 29-year-old produced a wonderful trademark curling finish to top off a moment of individual genius.
He makes it look so simple!
Goals from Neymar, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti put Barca into a deserved 4-0 lead, with Neymar netting via a wonderful chip.
Then, on 64 minutes, Messi struck again. This time racing onto the ball on the right flank, Messi cut inside two defenders in the Celta Vigo box before sliding home the most nonchalant of finishes which totaly deceived ‘keeper Sergio.
Utterly superb.
The win sees Luis Enrique’s side leapfrog Real Madrid back to the top of the La Liga table, with one point between the two giants. However, Real still have a game in hand.
