Stoke City eased their relegation fears with a convincing 3-1 win at home to Hull City on Saturday, with Xherdan Shaqiri netting an absolute stunner for the Potters.

Shaqiri’s wonder-strike was the last goal of a game which saw Marko Arnautovic open the scoring on six minutes, via a thumping effort before centre-half Harry McGuire levelled the scores for the Tigers.

Sub Peter Crouch then put the hosts ahead on 66 minutes before Shaqiri sealed the deal with this long-ranger stunner late on…

What a strike.

Swiss international striker has never quite made the most of his undoubted talent, with injuries and inconsistency hampering his career. However, maybe this strike will at least kickstart the winger’s season.

The win sees Stoke go 11th, 11 points clear of danger.

As for Marco Silva and Hull, their poor away form continues, with the Tigers now just two points above the drop-zone.
