Hartlepool United were dumped out of the Football League on Saturday, after the League Two side suffered heartbreak on a dramatic final day of the season.
Pools needed to beat Doncaster Rovers and hope that Newport failed to beat Notts County to ensure the extension of their 96-year unbroken spell in the Football League.
Things started badly for Hartlepool, with Andy Williams putting Donny ahead on 31 minutes.
However, a second-half brace from Devante Rodney, courtesy of the teenager’s first two senior goals, put Pools back in front.
Sky Sports anchor and Hartlepool President, Jeff Stelling, resplendent in a club shirt, understandably went crazy when his side’s second goal went in.

With Notts County and Newport level at 1-1, it was all going to plan for the temporary player-manager Matthew Bates and his side.
But then, as the game at Victoria Park moved into injury-time, news came through that Mark O’Brien had netted an 89th minute winner for Newport, thus keeping the Welsh side in the fourth tier and cruelly ending Hartlepool’s long stay in the Football League.
