Mexico came from behind to beat Russia 2-1 in their Confederations Cup Group A clash on Saturday, a result which sees the victors progress to the semi-finals and the hosts crash out of the competition.

The winning goal came courtesy of Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano and it was quite something.

Russia had taken the lead through Alexander Samedov, only for Néstor Araujo to equalise before the break.

Then, on 52 minutes, Héctor Herrera launched the ball high and deep into the Russian half. The ball bounced once before Akinfeev came running out to clear the ball.

However, indecision from the veteran ‘keeper allowed a very sharp Lozano to launch himself at the ball and bravely head home…

Lozano is a brave lad!

Who says the long-ball game is dead!
