Things got a little heated at half-time during Wednesday night’s PfB Pokal tie between RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich when the home side’s sporting director, the erstwhile Ralf Rangnick, attempted to implement his own DIY version of the video-assisted referee system.
Irked by a succession of decisions that apparently hadn’t gone Leipzig’s way, Rangnick came marching onto the pitch, smartphone in hand, to show referee Felix Zwayer his irrefutable evidence.
Rangnick then clashed with Mats Hummels who, for some reason, took umbrage at the Leipzig director attempting to influence the ref using replays he’d found on his phone…

Appalling behaviour, really. Is this what it’s come to? Are these the margins?
Anyway, the match finished 1-1 after 120 minutes, with Bayern eventually winning the shootout 5-4 when Sven Ulreich saved Timo Werner’s fifth and final penalty.
