Peterborough forward Marcus Maddison filed a strong – by which, of course, we mean ‘bloody risible’ – contender for the 2017 Fallon d’Floor award in Sunday afternoon’s 2-2 draw against AFC Wimbledon.
The stirring piece actually consisted of two dives, performed within 10 seconds of one another, in which Maddison first threw himself to the ground looking for a freekick before simulating a headbutt from Liam Trotter and hurling himself back down to terra firma in mock agony…
Embarrassing by Marcus Maddison … is he going for the win or an Oscar? #WIMvPET pic.twitter.com/fSSENXXglq

Pathetic. Truly.
Thankfully, the Football League now possess powers to go back and retrospectively punish this kind of behaviour, so we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before Maddison gets his comeuppance for such a blatant act of cowardice.
