In notching the only goal of the game in Watford’s win over West Brom on Saturday afternoon, Troy Deeney kept a fantastically quirky and impressively prolific goal-scoring record alive.
Come the 77th minute, Deeney latched onto a precise through-ball from Will Hughes and steered a clever disguised finish past Ben Foster to snare all three points for the Hornets on his 300th league appearance for the club.
According to the Opta stat annals, this means that Deeney has now scored at least one goal on his 50th, 100th, 150th, 200th, 250th and now 300th league outing for Watford.
That’s one hell of a record for the Deeneydozer. No wonder they bloody idolise him down Vicarage Road way.
Phenomenal, prolific… cojones.
