Schalke were victorious in Sunday’s Bundesliga Revierderby at the Veltins-Arena, with the hosts winning 2-0.
Schalke, currently second in the German top-flight, took the lead just after break, with Yevhen Konoplyanka capitalising on an error from Marcel Schmelzer.
However, Domenico Tedesco made sure of the win late on, courtesy of an absolute piledriver of a long-range free-kick from veteran Brazilian defender Naldo….

A thunderous thumper if ever there was one!
The win sees Schalke go four points clear of third-place Bayer Leverkusen, with a place in next season’s Champions League looking extremely likely.
As for Dortmund, they find themselves in fourth, four points clear of fifth-placed Leipzig.
Along with the defeat, the loss of Michy Batshuayi to injury late on will be of major concern to Dortmund, with the in-form Chelsea loanee suffering what could be a serious ankle injury.
