Foul Play: Referee Trips One Player, Then Another During Turkish Super Lig Clash Between Besiktas and Kayserispor (Video)

With the amount of abuse referees receive from players, it’s no wonder that sometimes the officials want to dish out a nasty challenge or two.

During the Turkish Super Lig clash between Besiktas and Kayserispor on Sunday, ref Baris Simsek decided to take out a couple of players after just nine minutes of play.

It was all accidental of course (we think), with Simsek’s dismal positioning leading to one body-check followed immediately by a trip…

That’s a yellow card for each offence and a sending-off in our book.

The game would get rather feisty, with the two sides picking up a red card each.

Besiktas ran out 2-0 winners in the end, a result which sees them tighten their grip on fourth spot in the division, with Kayserispor eighth.
