Elfsborg’s drab start to the new Allsvenskan season looks set to continue, with the third-bottom side currently trailing 3-0 away at Hacken.

Indeed, things got off to a suitably laughable start for the visitors when defender Robert Gojani opened the scoring (for Hacken) with an own-goal of truly tragic proportions.

Closed down on the edge of his box, Gojani received the ball, got his head up, had a look and calmly rolled the ball gently back to his goalkeeper.

There was only one minor problem…

A fine finish, and under pressure too.

Sorry Robert, but that one was all on you, lad.

The match finished 5 – 0 with another beauty of an own goal for 4 – 0. At the end of the match Elfsborg went over to their fans either to thank them or apologise (I’m not sure) and were met with what might be best described as a volley of unrelenting verbal abuse that quickly turned into a very heated exchange. Refreshingly the coverage included most of what went down and it was quite amusing.

Gojani also got sent off a minute later…
