BBC Sport have revealed the punditry panel they’ll be employing for the duration of the 2018 World Cup.

While rival broadcasters ITV may have snared a few flashier names, the BBC have packed their roster with solid steady hands.

Indeed, the Beeb announced their World Cup squad with a jaunty little ‘group message’ video…

So that’s Gary Lineker, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Jurgen Klinsmann, Pablo Zabaleta, Rio Ferdinand, Dan Walker, Gabby Logan, Alex Scott, Phil Neville, Kevin Kilbane, Mark Chapman, Danny Murphy, Jermaine Jenas and, finally, Alan Shearer.

Whether or not Mark Lawrenson has actually made the cut remains to be seen.

Fingers crossed he was simply included in the teaser as comic fodder as we don’t think we’ll be able to take another World Cup of him droning on sardonically and cracking Dad joke after Dad joke about the Panamanian team’s fondness for hat-tricks.
