Cenk Tosun scored and was sent off in Turkey’s 2-2 draw with Tunisia in Switzerland.

The Everton man scored the opening goal of the game, on 54 minutes, via the penalty spot.

England’s World Cup opponents Tunisia equalised soon after, with Anice Badri netting an absolute cracker.

However, the drama began when Tosun reacted to an incident in the stands behind the dugouts, where his father and brother were apparently targeted by fans who threw flares and smoke bombs in their direction.

The striker was sent off for his reaction in rather odd scenes.

It was later confirmed that Tosun was dismissed for making a ‘throat slit’ gesture toward the crowd.

Tunisia would then take the lead through Ferjani Sassi’s clever poked finish.

Late on, Turkey would bag an equaliser, with Caglar Soyuncu finding the back of the net, after a clever free-kick move.

The game would end in a 2-2 draw, Tunisia’s second 2-2 result in a week, after they came from 2-0 down to draw with Portugal.

England kick off their World Cup against the African side on June 18 in Volgograd.

As for Tosun, no doubt there’ll be an inquest into the shenanigans which led to his dismissal.
