Adlene Guedioura put in an undisputed ‘Man of the Match’ shift as Nottingham Forest were held to a draw by West Brom in the Championship on Tuesday evening.

Indeed, it was the Algerian midfielder – who now looks fit and firing after struggling to keep pace last season – who opened the scoring at the City Ground with a low drive from outside the area on the hour mark.

Then, for his next trick, Guedioura went for broke with 10 minutes left when he unleashed a monster shot from deep inside his own half that would have put Forest 2-0 up were it not for Sam Johnstone’s flailing fingertips…

Not sure about ‘Goal of the Century’, but it was certainly an inspired hump.

Unfortunately, an 87th-minute equaliser from Matty Phillips was enough to deny Forest their first win of the season, despite the Reds being more than good value for the three points on the night.

Oh well, two 1-1 draws on the bounce is still an unbeaten start to the season, and the football being played looks good too.

All is well.
