This week, Kylian Mbappe finally got the chance to return to the place where it all began and celebrate his World Cup victory with the people of his hometown of Bondy.
The teenage striker, who scored four goals for Les Bleus on their march to victory in Russia, began his career at AS Bondy in the suburbs of Paris.
Mbappe took to the stage at AS Bondy’s Leo Lagrange stadium, where he mingled, thumbs-upped, held photos of himself aloft and found himself presented with his own official replica shirt.
He even went back to his old school to get screamed at by a sports hall full of kids…

Not even 20 and Mbappe already boasts a CV that would make most senior pros weep.
As well as being a tremendous talent, he also seems like a thoroughly nice young man too.
Not really fair, is it?
