Wayne Rooney scored his 10th goal of the MLS season as DC United registered a narrow win over Toronto FC in midweek – their fourth victory on the bounce.

On just his 18th appearance for DC, Rooney lined one up and subsequently stuck away a lovely 30-yard freekick which ultimately proved to be the only goal of the game…

If you thought that was nice, you’ll be heartened to know that the reverse angle is even better…

Having been bottom of the Eastern Conference upon Rooney’s arrival, the 32-year-old striker has helped spur a late-season drive up into the play-off places, with DC currently up into sixth spot and four points clear of Montreal Impact below them with two normal season fixtures remaining.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Fabulous free kick no matter what league.
I can just hear Richard Keys asking, “Should Gareth Southgate recall Rooney for England?”.

  2. Dr.Cajetan Coelho says:

Wayne is doing fine. There is lot more vintage football yet to come from the boots of the legendary Rooney.
