Pies are fairly sure we’ve featured the work of Mariano Lopez before, but we can’t seem to locate it within our archives.
Basically, over the years Lopez has made a habit of clambering up tall buildings and recording entire cities during big football encounters to create an audio “match report” from his lofty perch.
With Boca Juniors playing River Plate in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final on Sunday evening, our intrepid hero stationed himself atop a block of flats and recorded the whole of Buenos Aires’ collective reaction to the goals…
Again, we’re not entirely sure how Lopez collates the audio or what we’re actually listening too here, but you can definitely hear a city airing its split loyalties – both sets of opposing fans cheering and jeering in unison as the Superclasico ended in a 2-2 draw at La Bombonera.
Interesting enough, without being particularly ‘razzle dazzle’.
