Yeah, soccerball is really big in the States, apparently – Hispanics and young girls love it…

You can come out from behind your hands now. So, did you spot the deliberate mistakes? Well done. Christ that was one of the most embarrassing interviews in the history of interviews.

And let’s hear it for researching your guests. Like, any research would be nice.

  1. David Macbeth says:

    You just won the World Cup- hmm, not quite.

  2. hollis says:

    Americans may never get it. There will always be those few fanatical devotees to the beautiful game, but the PBR swilling, vest wearing, lard munching majority won’t ever warm up to any sport that involves some degree of fitness (beyond that gained by beating the wife) to play at even pub league level.

    Training cuts into PizzaBurger time too much, and anything under 40% bodyfat is a sign of vanity and/or homosexuality.

  3. Miguel says:

    that was painful. Fox is bad in everything else, so it is not surprising this was the worst ever interview. Also, did you notice that they had Henry’s handball on loop in the background…the guy is one of the best players of his generation and you have one of his “lowest” moments on loop. SMH

  4. Abhi says:

    So Americans really are as ignorant and self obsessed as I heard they are!

  5. Javier says:

    I live in NYC and watched that bit live. What an absolute disgrace. There are only a handful of television presenters who have even a decent knowledge of soccer. Sadly, it’s just awful preparation that ruined this interview.

  6. Grant says:

    @hollis

    Cause yeah, most British football fans are all so in love with the game that they can play it themselves. Just ask every shirtless Newcastle United fan that weighs 400 lbs….

  7. Garrett says:

    @Grant hahaha.

    Embarrassing as an American to watch this but its a bit unfair to think that everyone thinks like this…. along with all the “fat” stereotypes ha. Glad to see Henry over here though.
