Guti was arrested for drink-driving in the wee hours of Monday morning. The former Real Madrid substitute, now playing for Besiktas in Turkey, was charged with driving his Range Rover under the influence of alcohol after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a bus – crashing into a bus is a lot better than crashing into a pram. No one was injured in the incident.

As he was being arrested, Guti went for a TV cameraman…

Ladyboys can be savage.

Guti told Real Madrid’s propaganda rag of choice (aka Marca) that he hadn’t been drinking that evening (after a win over Bursaspor in the Turkish league):

“I understand that here in Turkey things are exaggerated about me, but it’s a lie to say I was drunk.

“It was a light crash, it only broke the mirror of my car. There is no further damage.”

Methinks the lady doth protest too much. Judging by the footage above, he had enjoyed a few ales, occifer – indeed, reports claim he was five times over the legal limit.

Guti’s punishment? He has been fined 547 Turkish lira, which is around £230. That’s gotta sting. His driver’s permit has also been confiscated for six months.
