Sao Paulo veteran Rogerio Ceni has become the first ‘keeper on record to be recognised by both FIFA and the International Federation of Football History and Statistics to reach 100 career goals (second place Jose Chilavert has 98 goals) after whipping home a trademark free-kick against Corinthians yesterday – well played Rodge…

Ceni has made more than 950 appearance for Sao Paulo, pitching his goal-scoring ratio at somewhere around the 1 in 10 mark – i.e, the kind of goals-to-game count that someone like Emile Heskey would kill a man in cold blood for.

Anyway, we’ve also managed to track down a video of all 100 of Ceni’s goals for the Tricolor – y’know, if you happen to fancy spending the next 11 minutes watching a gloved fellow poke home free-kick after penalty after free-kick…

Shane, it’s common in south american countries for the referee to have a kind of spray paint with him to mark on the field where the wall needs to stand so maybe he had it to indicate where the free kick had to be taken.

Thanks @KevinW. Never knew that. I like the idea too, would be great in the premiership.

Is there a compilation of all the times its come back off the wall and the other team have put it in from the half-way line?
