Andre Villas Boas Is Not ‘The Special One’, He Is ‘The Shit One’ (Video)

By Chris Wright

“Yeah, it’s a whopping great samurai sword, what of it?”

Largely because they look fairly similar in a suit, Porto coach Andre Villas Boas is doomed to be compared to his former mentor Jose Mourinho wherever he may choose to roam and for the rest of his living days – not that the man himself gives the comparisons with the ‘Special One’ any credence…

Thanks to Pies fan Ricardo Martins for the nudge – good scouting work fella.

It’s nice to see a bit of modesty, but what he’s done this season is pretty phenomenal. Now the Portuguese league may not be the most competitive in the world, but they do have 3 teams in the Europa semis, and Porto have dropped something like 4 points all season, smashing their way to the league title. And they have utterly mauled their last 3 Europa league teams, racking up a lot of goals. This is a very talented team, brought together by a very talented coach, and I for one am looking forward to see if they can have an impact in the Champions League next season.

This guy needs to see a psychologist, obviously he’s living his life with some serious self-confidence issues.

I think this is the kind of modesty our youngster need to learn and appreciate. As Nick said, he and Porto have a phenomenal season. He is smart enough to acknowledge that the season is a result of team work by directing most of the credit to his players. As a human being, I give him a lot of respect. Unlike Montesquieu (as his fake ‘pen’ name indicate someone who thinks of himself highly than what he really is, Mr Boas’s interview does not reflect his lack of self-confidence, rather on the contrary.

Considering the humble pie he was forced to swallow following this years’ five classicos and the embarrassment he caused recently, guess who looked more like the “shit-one” right now…Do you want me to give you a clue

I highly doubt he actually thinks he’s shit. If you’re successful in sports you have to have a minimum of self confidence, but its even moreso in a leadership position such as manager. Of course he has his own beliefs about his abilities which he doesn’t need to tell the world about.
