‘Man Dressed As Cow’ Scores First Ever Goal At Sporting KC’s New Stadium (Video)

By Chris Wright

In which the prestigious honour of scoring the first ever goal during the first ever game at MLS side Sporting KC’s brand new $200 million ‘Livestrong Sporting Park’ stadium goes to an impressively quick bloke in a ropey cow costume that tear-arsed onto the pitch in the 80th minute…

A cow broke the duck – how fitting.

Despite Cow Man’s best efforts (he was later arrested for his troubles) the drab encounter between KC and Chicago Fire finished goalless, despite the fact that Kansas had their ‘keeper sent off after about an hour and the officials eventually tagged a whopping 11, count ‘em, 11 minutes of injury time onto the end of the game.

From what we gather of the match, you can basically consider this video as the entire highlights reel.

(Thanks to Pies fan Niall for the nudge)

Not to be a tool, but technically they added only a minute at the half and nine minutes at the end of the second half. Also, it’s not Kansas, rather Kansas City. Fans get a little irked when it is referred to such as the team doesn’t represent the state, but the city which actually straddles two states (both Kansas and Missouri).

Omar Bravo was down for a good three or four minutes, which was part of that stoppage. I was at the game and still not sure where they got the other five minutes.

Good game, but only really three good shots on goal for the game – one of which was the cow.

    Moooooooooooo!

I was at the event, the cow storming onto the pitch with his own ball and then scoring was by far the only thing worth watching all match. Cheers my bovine friend.
