BBC Radio 5 Live Put Together ‘Football Band’ – Malouda On Drums, Lalas On Guitar, Defoe On Triangle (Video)

By Chris Wright

In which BBC Radio 5 Live set about piecing together a band of footballers past and present with the express aim of getting their song played on Radio One.

Why? We have absolutely no idea…

The band in full…

Florent Malouda on drums,
Neil Danns on vox and egg shaker,
Gareth ‘Wild Thing’ Ainsworth on lead vox,
Alexi Lalas on guitar,
Paul McVeigh on piano,
Dion Dublin playing his very own ‘dube’,
Nobby Solano on trumpet,
Jermaine Defoe and Michael Dawson on Early Learning Centre percussion.

It may have been an innocent oversight on 5 Live’s part, but we can’t help but feel that Kaka should have been involved in some capacity…

If you care to listen to the song in it’s entirety (to be fair, it’s a damn-sight better than we expected – though the phrase ‘damning with faint praise’ springs instantly to mind), then follow this ‘ere link…
