How happy were Hondurans (is that even the right word?) when USA defender Jonathan Bornstein scored the 95th-minute equaliser against Costa Rica that meant Honduras qualified for the World Cup finals (for only the second time in their history)?

THIS happy:

I love that reaction so much. Beautiful – and now we get to see Wilson Palacios dishing out reducers in South Africa. I couldn’t be happier.

After qualifying for SA 2010, Thursday was declared a national holiday in Honduras. The country’s president, Roberto Micheletti, also announced that Bornstein would not even need a visa to visit Honduras: “We’ll bring this ‘gringuito’ who scored with the header. He doesn’t need a visa to come here to Honduras. We’ll thank him!”

What, you’re not going to offer him the pick of Honduran virgins too? Some gratitude.

Viva los Catrachos! Looking forward to seeing some Wigan players at the World Cup for once, plus it’s nice to have a different team participating as well. Now all we need is for the four unseeded teams to qualify through the play-offs in Europe, what a fix that system is….
