By Chris Wright

More action from the Womens’ World Cup now, in which Frankfurt forward Kerstin Garefrekes shonks a nailed-on sitter up, up and over das crossbar during Germany’s opening group tie victory over Canada…

Das…war complete and utter scheiße.

Thankfully for Garefrekes, Germany eventually ran out 2-1 winners – though goal of the game definitely belonged to the Canadians, who’s consilation set-piece strike was a thing of beauty…

I think the German keeper is a man.

  2. rich says:

@Jordon…and the Canadian coach, Mancini with a blond wig?

  3. jamie says:

@Jordon, if she was a man, surely she’d be half-decent at being a goal keeper then?

  4. jamie says:

Also, am I the only one who thinks the keeper should have had that free kick?

  5. wiggs says:

Gimme Shelter…!?! Lovely stuff. I’m sick to death of all the hip hop bollocks that get’s continually churned out on some pap Arsenal highlight reel…

  6. Chris says:

    @ Jamie, Jordan, Rich – You’re arseholes.
btw Christine Sinclair played that free kick with a broken nose. Shouldn’t she have been rolling around on the pitch instead?

  7. nickooo says:

    Still looks better than Torres

  8. ElChico says:

@Chris – big deal her nose was broken but it wasn’t that bad. Take a look at Marie Knutsen from Norway during the last Olympics. Her face was all bandged up to the point where she almost looked like a mummy and she had terrible migraines and still played. Sincliar didn’t even need to be patched up, no bandage, nothing, if you weren’t told something happened to her you would never have known.

  9. ElChico says:

@Chris – but also I do agree with your one point. I’ve seen woman take hits, hard tackles, etc.. time after time and keep going that would have had the men rolling around on the ground like they had just been hit by a car.

  10. Tom Jones says:

    I’d still give her one

  11. Sandj says:

But we all know a male pro that has missed from a Klose range…..
