Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 in Group C of the Copa America last night, condemning El Tri to their first ever group-stage exit and setting themselves up with a plum quarter-final tie against hosts Argentina – all despite Diego Forlan’s best efforts to bugger everything up in front of goal…

Alas, the 12 months since the World Cup have not been particularly kind to Diego, though it was his fairly naff free-kick that somehow landed at Alvaro Pereira’s feet for the Porto winger to stab home Uruguay’s winning goal from close range…
