San Jose Earthquakes’ Keeper David Bingham Scores From Range Against West Brom (Video)

By Chris Wright

Looks like the low sun is in Baggies keeper Boaz Myhill’s eyes, but that’s still no excuse for letting your opposite number stick one past you from the other end of the pitch – especially after only three minutes…

Not a bad Quakes debut for young David Bingham, who now has a 1:1 goal-to-game ratio despite only playing for the first 45 minutes.

Said Bings, post game:

“I didn’t even see it go in. I hit it and I knew I overhit it, so I just turned around and walked back. Then everyone started yelling…sometimes it’s good to be lucky.”

For the record, San Jose ran out 2-1 winners.

I was there last night and it was sort of funny how it took a moment for the crowd to believe it actually happened. We kept joking about Bingham taking shots for the rest of the match.

i used to play with bingham in high school. he always wanted to be a striker. i guess he got a mix between the two positions haha
