Eran Zahavi Scores 25-Yard Scorcher 15 Seconds Into Palermo Debut (Video)

By Chris Wright

Not quite his finest work (more on that shortly), but Eran Zahavi certainly has an eye for the spectacular – marking his first league start for Palermo since joining from Hapoel Tel Aviv over the summer with a pearler from the edge of the box with just 15 seconds on the clock…

Boom!

Thanks to some in-depth research, Pies can confirm that Zahavi’s maiden strike is definitely one of the fastest goals in Serie A history, though I can’t seem to track down a definitive answer on the current standings. Alberto Paloschi scored a quickie for Milan a while back, but that was after coming on as a sub if memory serves. Anyone out there any the wiser?

Any road up, fastest or not, it’s still a lovely strike in it’s own right – though, of course, no mention of Zahavi should go without a few examples of his chocker wondergoal CV.

Here’s the pick of the bunch – as you’re about to see, our Eran is a bit of an overhead-kick specialist…

And one from his first Palermo training session, because I’m feeling extra generous today…

Would have been more like 16-17 seconds if the clock hadn’t broken around the 11 second mark…
