Neck Of Steel: Jone Samuelsen Scores Immense Header From His Own Half vs Tromso (Video)

By Chris Wright

Finding themselves 2-1 down at Odd Grenland as the game ticked over into injury time, Tromso threw everybody forward in search of a late equaliser – it wasn’t to be, as Odd midfielder Jone Samuelsen took the resultant opportunity to seal the deal, heading home from the 50-yard mark to seal a 3-1 victory…

Them’s some mighty purty neck muscles you got there Jone!

I could be wrong here, but I think Samuelsen may have set a new footballing record for a headed goal here – being as though I’m fairly sure Martin Palermo held the record previously, and his long-range head-cannon against Velez Sarsfield a couple of years ago was from comfortably within his opponent’s half…

Anyone out there any the wiser?
