Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez Scores From His Own Half vs Athletic Bilbao (Video)
By Chris Wright
In which Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez (i.e, the fella that scored that audicious 30-yard, volleyed own-goal for the Spain U21s not so very long ago) arches one in from diiiiiiiiiiiiiiistance against Athletic Bilbao – a goal which staunch Sociedad supporter Xabi Alonso (a man that knows a fair bit about scoring from one’s own half) subsequently labelled the ‘greatest goal ever scored at the Anoeta Stadium’…
Not bad as equalisers go, still, it’s not like he went and scored a header from his own half, now is it?
Any road up, Bilbao still went on to win 2-1 courtesy of Fernando Llorente’s brace.
