Russian Third-Tier Side Mitos Score ‘Fastest Goal Ever’ vs Olympia Gelendzhik (Video)
By Chris Wright
While it’s yet to be rubber-stamped, there’s a good possibility that the fastest goal ever scored cropped up in the third-tier of Russian football earlier this month, when veteran Mitos midfielder Michail Osinov stepped up and cracked one home from kick-off against Olympia Gelendzhik on September 11th…
The official record holder is the 3.17 seconds it took for then-Atletico Mineiro striker Fred’s similar effort to loop into the net at the Sao Paulo Juniors Cup back in 2006, though Osinov’s effort is possibly a tad quicker – seems like we’re just waiting on an official verification now.
Official Goal Timers of the world, get to work!

How about that Scottish guy who did the same thing (as far as I remember) in an under 21s game against Iceland a few months back?
See…this is where the rules have jumped the shark. That big white circle? Only two players are allowed inside it at kick-off. THERE IS NO OTHER REASON FOR IT. Yet, third man scores goal.
The Scots player was Chris Maguire but that was in the second half.
He cracked one out there.
