ADO Den Haag Score After 9 Seconds, And It’s Not Just A Hoofer From Half-Way (Videos)

By Chris Wright

Think Robin van Persie scored a quick goal this weekend? Pah! Think again amigo.

ADO Den Haag winger Tjaronn Chery found the net after just 9 seconds had elapsed against Roda JC in the Eredivisie on Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t just a standard looping Howitzer-like salvo from half-way that bounced awkwardly over the ‘keeper, oh no.

In fact, Chery found time to charge clear of the defence, latch onto a weak backpass and steer in the opener from the edge of the box…

Chery is now joint second in the ‘Fastest Ever Eredivisie Goal’ stakes, level with Johan Cruyff and Romeo Forests on 9 seconds – with ex-NAC Breda midfielder Koos Waslander still a whole second faster in first-place by way of his 8-second goal against PEC Zwolle in 1982.

00 is the first second, 01 is the 2nd.

  7. Colin says:

@Jood, nevertheless the goal was not “after” 9 seconds, it was in the ninth second, as you point out. The Eighth second had elapsed but not the ninth.
