The inaugural Best Player in the World World Cup kicked off yesterday, with a very tasty clash: Cristiano Ronaldo (pre-tournament favourite) v Fernando Torres. As it stands, Nando is set to pull off a shock win - at time of posting, the Spaniard has 48% of the vote, with C-Ron back on 43%. The vote will remain open for the whole of the first round of group games.
Today sees the second match in Group A, between a couple of little firebrands: Dani Alves (Barcelona & Brazil) v Luka Modric (Spurs & Croatia).
Both are terrific footballers to watch, but who do you think is the better player? Vote below…

The opening game in Group B will follow later today, so stay tuned.
