Behold the face of entertainment!
West Ham have released a statement to officially confirm that Sam Allardyce will remain in situ as Hammers’ manager despite large pockets of their supporters clamouring for him to be catapulted into the sea.
While backing Allardyce to lead West Ham into the 2014/15 season, the statement also promises that the club are working toward ensuring that “the team provides more entertainment next season.”
To that end, Allardyce has agreed to “recruit a new attacking coach to complement the existing coaching set-up” as well as allow the board (read: owners David Sullivan and David Gold) to have “greater involvement” in the signing of players.
Gold and Sullivan have also made it clear that they want to see “progression on the pitch and at least a top-ten finish as a result”.
