Harry Redknapp’s poor start to his first season back in the top division continued at the Boleyn Ground on Sunday, with his QPR side well beaten by West Ham.

The revitalised Hammers were a goal ahead after just five minutes when Stewart Downing’s corner was deflected into his own net by Nedum Onuoha. QPR struggled to respond to going a goal behind and rarely threatened the West Ham goal for the rest of the half.

After the break, Charlie Austin did go close for the visitors but it was the home side who would score the second and final goal of the game on the hour-mark. In-form striker Diafra Sakho was once again in the right place at the right time, heading home from a mis-hit James Tomkins, as the East Londoners secured another win to put them in seventh place in the table. As for Harry’s Hoops, they stay bottom.
