Pies, much like the entire internet, couldn’t help but notice the parallel between Michail Antonio’s post-goal celebrations against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon and one of Dancin’ Homer Simpson’s most famous pieces of choreography.
The West Ham winger opened the scoring after half an hour and proceeded to celebrate by getting down on the ground and marching round in a circle on the turf.
It brought memories flooding back…

It would seem that the routine didn’t go unheeded over in the West Ham dug-out either, with manager Slaven Bilic admitting that he too certainly appreciated the Simpsons reference.
Asked about Antonio’s ode to Homer at his weekly press conference today, Bilic replied:
I am a big fan of the Simpsons and saw his celebrations. To see him connected with Homer Simpson – no connection between the two.
Homer is lazy. Michail is a workaholic. But I enjoyed his celebration.
And that’s the end of that chapter.
