West Ham’s Dimitri Payet Nets Magnificent Long-Range Free-Kick As France Beat Russia 4-2 (Video)

One of this season’s undoubted stars, Dimitri Payet has blossomed with West Ham after a summer move from Marseille, helping the Hammers climb all the way into the Premier League’s top five. The playmaker has netted a number of fine free-kick goals already this season and on Wednesday night, he bagged a cracker for the French national side against Russia.

Les Bleus won the friendly at the Stade de France 4-2, with Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante scoring on his full debut for Didier Deschamps side and Andre-Pierre Gignac and Kingsley Coman also getting on the scoresheet. For Russia, Alexander Kokorin and Yuri Zhirkov nabbed a goal each.

Payet has previously struggled to make his mark on the French national side, but EURO 2016 could well be the time for the 29-year-old to finally shine on the international stage.
